postheadericon Most Prestigious Bowling Associations in the World

Bowling, like all other sports, is played professionally using the regulations and rules of various organizations that govern the sport. There are several major bowling associations in the world, both national and international, and there are the most important.

1. The United States Bowling Congress (USBC)

This organization only came to life in 2005 so it is a lot younger than other entries on the list. It was created as the result of a merger between multiple other important bowling associations, however: the Young American Bowling Alliance, the American Bowling Congress, Women’s International Bowling Congress and USA Bowling. Now, the USBC has become the governing body of 10-pin bowling in the United States, with over 2 million active members and over 3,000 locations across the country.

2. The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA)

Like the USBC, the PBA is a major governing body for bowling in the United States. The main different between the two is the fact that while the USBC has members both amateur and professional, the PBA is dedicated only to professional players. Consequently, it only has around 4,300 members. It also holds some of the most important bowling tournaments in the world, including the prestigious PBA Tour.

postheadericon The Benefits of Playing Basketball

Playing BasketballIn December 1891, Canadian-American physical education teacher and sports aficionado James Naismith pioneered an innovative idea that changed the sporting world forever. The YMCA of Springfield, Massachusetts had requested the creation of a new game that could be played all year round, not take up too much space indoors, and wouldn’t encourage violent body contact. Two weeks later, Naismith and his assistants had created basketball. Since then, a number of changes have been made to the original version of the game, altering the style and dimensions of the courts (standard professional and collegiate basketball courts are nowadays larger).

Over a century later, the game has become one of the most popular sports for both genders, as well as a billion-dollar global behemoth. Typically, wherever you find a hoop or a basket, regardless of whether it’s a gym or on the school playground, you can bet that dedicated players have been using it to play some b-ball. But what positive benefits are gained from playing basketball? What advantages does it offer?

Burns calories: Basketball is a fast-moving, blood-pumping physical activity that can leave players sweaty and exhausted.
